The Doctor
Tetraps - Dapol
Avik - Leesub Sirin
Marda - Pons Limbic
Treep - Feltipern Trevagg
Jevans - Carnor Jax (Crimson Empire)
The script originally had place marker names for the chacaters: Badman, Nurse, Commander and I replaced them when I'd finished the script. But once I'd decided the figures I'd use (they were originally all supposed to be human) the names no longer fitted and had to be changed. So Bardman became Marda while Peters became Treep.
For those that don't know, the Tetraps appeared in the 1987 story Time And The Rani, the debut of the Seventh Doctor. They were immortilised in plastic soon after by Dapol.
The tetraps don't look too bad next to the latest Doctor. Other dapol figures don't fare so well. I couldn't resist doing a few test shots.

Since the introduction of the 3.75" scale figures, it'd been my intention to do a story for the Tetraps. An existing, if underused monster that could turn up and surprise an audience that might be expecting Daleks or Cybermen.
This story was written in a hurry. Right now, the AFT isn't a priority so I didn't want this to take up too much time. But reaching 500 likes on Facebook was a milestone that needed to be marked and I wanted to give something to all those followers and indeed anyone that's ever enjoyed AFT.
The 10th anniversary was also a good excuse for a new episode. In an ideal world that would have been a new 9th Doctor story but needs must.
While we're talking anniversaries, this is how we celebrated the show's return back in 2005 back long before CO release any official action figures.

The script was finished on 19th Feb.

Shooting was done on 3 March.
There were only three sets required. The control room and infirmary were the same set redressed with a different corrugated back wall, red for control and blue for medical. The control room uses elements from the 2009 Star Trek bridge and transporter sets.
The infirmary also uses elements from the Star Trek bridge, a console from Star Wars bacta chamber and a medical bed from Battlefield: Earth.
The corridor sets are custom made and were first used in 2010's The Space Mutant.

Editing began the day after filming was finished but was a slow affair, finally completed on 24 March
One or two elements needed changing for example, the Doctor and Avik were too spread out in a frame and had to be brought together using photoshop.
Also one image of retreating Tetraps made the hole in their back look so obvious I had to cover it.
Although written as a standard one episode/ four page story, I decided to stretch the format in order to give me larger panels and let the story be told a bit slower, hence the seven page count. This also allowed me the page 2 single panel revelation.

The story was posted on Thursday 26th March. A late debut for a Doctor on the AFT but hey, he got there in the end.

In The Blood sits doesn't reference any other story so could sit anywhere in the 12th Doctor's run. He's without Clara but there are plenty of the times the Doctor leaves in the TARDIS with her back on Earth. I arbitrarily placed this story between Flatline and In The Forest Of The Night.
